Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 24-30 slices pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesa
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a standard muffin tin generously with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle, approximately 12x16 inches.
  3. Spread the pizza sauce evenly across the entire dough surface, leaving a small border along one long edge.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce, then add Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
  5. Arrange pepperoni slices in overlapping rows across the dough, covering the cheese layer completely.
  6. Starting from the long edge opposite the border, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  7. Using a sharp knife or dental floss, cut the log into 12 equal slices, each about 1 to 1.5 inches thick.
  8. Place each Pizza Rose slice into a muffin cup, cut side up.
  9. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dough is golden brown and the cheese bubbles beautifully.
  11. Let the Pizza Roses cool in the pan for 5 minutes before removing. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

Notes

Use room-temperature dough for easier rolling. Avoid excess sauce to prevent sogginess. For crispier bottoms, place the muffin tin on a preheated baking sheet.
