Ingredients

  • 3 Medium Hass Avocados, ripe, pitted, and peeled
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Red Onion, finely minced
  • 1/3 Cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped, leaves and tender stems
  • 1 Small Jalapeño, seeded and minced

Method

  1. Prepare your vegetables: mince the red onion, chop the cilantro, and dice the jalapeño.
  2. Cut the avocados in half lengthwise, twist to separate, and remove the pit.
  3. Scoop the avocado flesh into a mixing bowl and pour lime juice over it.
  4. Mash the avocado with a fork or potato masher to achieve a mix of smooth puree and small chunks.
  5. Add the minced onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and kosher salt to the bowl.
  6. Fold the ingredients together gently, avoiding over-mixing.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.
  8. Serve immediately for the best flavor and appearance.

Notes

Use ripe avocados for the best flavor. Store leftovers by pressing plastic wrap against the surface to prevent browning.
