Method
- Wash and dry the cucumbers thoroughly. Slice them thinly, about ⅛-inch thick.
- Place the sliced cucumbers in a colander and sprinkle with salt. Let them sit for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the creamy dressing by combining sour cream, mayonnaise, white vinegar, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth.
- Add chopped fresh dill, garlic powder, and black pepper to the dressing. Stir well.
- Add the drained cucumber slices and sliced red onion to the bowl. Toss gently to coat.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
This salad tastes even better after sitting for a few hours. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
