Ingredients
  

  • 2 large English cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • ½ medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry the cucumbers thoroughly. Slice them thinly, about ⅛-inch thick.
  2. Place the sliced cucumbers in a colander and sprinkle with salt. Let them sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the creamy dressing by combining sour cream, mayonnaise, white vinegar, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Add chopped fresh dill, garlic powder, and black pepper to the dressing. Stir well.
  5. Add the drained cucumber slices and sliced red onion to the bowl. Toss gently to coat.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

This salad tastes even better after sitting for a few hours. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
