Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and garlic powder.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and work it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the grated cheddar cheese and minced herbs until evenly coated.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the cold buttermilk, stirring until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a rectangle, folding it over itself three or four times.
- Pat the dough down to about one inch thickness and use a circular biscuit cutter to stamp out the biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush the warm biscuits with melted butter and sprinkle with extra herbs.
Notes
Use high-quality ingredients for the best results. Keep everything cold to achieve flaky layers. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
